History
The Sentinel mine is a large copper mine located in north-west Zambia in North-Western Province, part of FQM Trident Ltd.The mine is owned and operated by Canadian-based First Quantum Minerals, which purchased the rights to the project in 2010
Construction began in June 2012, and the first product was extracted in August 2015, though full-scale production did not begin until November 2016.The mine cost about $2.3 billion to build, and employs about 6,000 people.

Besides mining sector, the company also has experience in following fields:-
- Experience of setting up, operating & maintaining crushing unit.
- Experience of handling bulk material by road / rail.
- Experience of developing infrastructure like roads, bridges, buildings etc.
Equipment
The equipment for new projects are specially selected to suit the operational requirements. The current fleet of equipment consists of: –
- 3 x ThyssenKrupp 63-89 in pit crushers.
- 7 x Caterpillar MD6640 drills.
- 5 x CAT 7495HR rope shovels.
- 2 x Komatsu PC5500 face shovels.
- 1 x Komatsu PC5500 excavator.
- 15 x Komatsu 960E trucks (330 tonne).
- 15 x Komatsu 860E trucks (250 tonne).
- 15 x Komatsu HD1500 trucks (150 tonne).
The equipment is managed on a system that monitors the profitability of each machine to assure productivity is kept at an optimum level and maintenance is given paramount importance to achieve the optimum life.
